Hello from St Louis MO. I’m spending this week in my doctoral classes and I’m learning much that I’m looking forward to bringing back to our church family.
One of the blessings of being on the campus of the seminary is the daily worship service at 930 every morning. The services typically last less than an hour and they are such a uplifting and focusing time in the middle of all of the responsibilities and pressures we are working under.
As a Christian, how we manage our time each and every day matters. Remember the bible. passage, the earth is the lord’s and everything in it? Our moments and days, our time does not belong to us, it belongs to God and we are entrusted to manage our time according to God’s commands and purposes for our lives.
But if we see our time as something that we own, then we will use it how we want. Like, for me, thinking about skipping out on chapel so I could take a nap! But in obedience and some peer pressure from the Christians around me, being in chapel according to God’s design was a huge blessing for me today.
Our time is not our own, it belongs to God, it was paid with a price, the very blood of Jesus Christ.
As you consider how you will manage your time this week, remember that it does not belong to you, it belongs to God and you are entrusted for a short time with how it is used according to God’s commands.
Please remember your own management of God’s time this Sunday, and be in worship, where we are loved by God, grow together and serve Jesus.
