It’s not going to be paradise…but it won’t be the end of the world either.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest -Isaiah 9:2-3

This week on Friday we will be welcoming a new president to our country. It is obviously a time when a lot of people have a lot of opinions. Opinions from this is the end of the world and we’re all going to die to this is like the second coming and everything will be amazing! The truth is that this coming presidency will have it’s ups and downs like every other one and that like every president we have ever had, he is human with all of the good and bad that comes with that.

But what brings joy to a country ultimately is not the president but God. This does not always depend either on how the country is doing but on how God’s people look to their creator and savior for all things. Just like in an individual life, we will have good and hard times, but God alone is our hope and our salvation.

No matter what this new presidency brings, like the last one, pray for our leaders, pray for our nation, pray earnestly for our enemies and look to God alone for your salvation and all things needful.
