I always like to try and keep the KISS principle working in my life. The one that says Keep It Simple. I find, especially when I get busier, the more simple I have to keep everything else in my life, down to the basics.
Any church family can benefit from Keeping it Simple as well. When a church family has so many things going on, work to do and often unnecessary drama, it can feel like we lose focus on who we are and what we do.
That is why this passage from Acts 2:42 is so important, talking about the start of the Christian church.
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
That’s it! That’’s what church is, does and is all about.
God’s people around:
- God’s Word,
- The Sacraments
If we ever lose sight of that we lose who we are.
Keep it simple in your own life and with the people you love as well. Focus on being in God’s Word, receiving the Sacraments, being in fellowship and personal prayer.
Let the unnecessary things go, be in the love of Jesus, that is what matters.
