This Sunday my church family is so excited to receive 5 of our youth as confirmed parishioners in our church family! They and their families have committed a lot of time to their growth in the Christian faith.
Confirmation in our church body, of the many good purposes it serves, like education, maturity and rite of passage towards adulthood; one of the most important functions is that it is a public confession of faith in front of witnesses.
Pastor Paul teaches us in Romans 10:9-11
“if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
This Sunday we will hear 5 young men and women confessing what they believe, that Jesus is their Lord and Savior.
Jesus tells us in Luke 15:10 that
“there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Can you imagine the celebration for 5 sinners who repent and believe Jesus their savior?
This Sunday we get to celebrate with angels!
