It’s the little things in life, right?
Sometimes the devil is in the details and it is the little things that you miss that trip you up. But in a positive light it is also the small things that often mean the most, not the grand gestures as much as the daily caring and love that we show each other.
In Mark 4:30, Jesus compares the kingdom of God to a mustard seed, for them at the time the smallest of all seeds that a local Palestinian farmer would use. In the parable, Jesus says when it is grown it out grows all of the other plants.
What is offered in worship with your church family sometimes doesn’t seem like much, a few words, a few drops of water, a little wafer and a tablespoon of wine.
Small, like a mustard seed.
But it is these little things that our Heavenly Father uses to bring about the greatest of things, your eternal hope and future with the Lord and a peace that has no bounds. But when we forget these little things of God for the big things of the world we actually find that the big things of the world cannot come even close to giving us such amazing gifts.
In comparison to the whole of creation, you and me are little things, smaller than a mustard seed. But in the eyes of our heavenly father, we are the biggest and best of them all.
