Try Something New!

Try Something new!

Our devotion today is from Ephesians 4:25-32.

Pastor Paul writes some strong words about how a Christian should not live. He describes their actions this way:

They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.

Pastor Paul speaks clearly that every practice of impurity does not work with the Christian life. So, he then says, put off your old impure self and put on your new self in Jesus.

The way this is envisioned isn’t a one and done kind of thing, we’re suddenly you are free from all sin and impure behavior. Rather it is daily. Like when you get up you in the morning you change from you night clothes, shower and change to your day clothes.

It’s not being false and pretending rather this is a godly process, of prayer and devotion, of being in worship, of actively putting on your Heavenly Father’s promises each and every day. Taking those promises into your life, denying your sinful impulses, seeking forgiveness, and doing it all over again the next day.

Yes, it can be a struggle, but it is a godly struggle that is worth fighting for.

Each day, win or lose, know you have your savior’s love and forgiveness always there for you.
