Who Would You Give Your Future To?

do you know who you are trusting-2

Have you ever read your horoscope or wondered what your sign was?

Maybe you thought it wouldn’t hurt to check out some tarot cards or even see what that old Magic 8 ball was all about?

All of these methods and so many more of getting some sort of answer about what we want to know are called Divination and are in reality no different than trying to read chicken bones or tea leaves.

Divinization simply means seeking answers from a god. Get that, any god. A god by definition can be anything that we give ourselves too and anything that is more powerful than us. So, when someone uses a form of divination they are asking any power out there, whatever that power is, including demons, to give them an answer.

2 problems, particularly for the Christian:

1, you don’t know who you’re talking too and even if they give you a “right” answer or it comes true, does that mean the power has your best interest at heart?

2. You’re trusting in something else to be your god, not Jesus.

Holy Scripture speaks against any kind of divination often. From Isaiah 8:19.

Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance?

Do you want to trust demons to guide your future or Jesus? The difference is real–between consulting a magic eight ball or any other form of divination or praying to Jesus. One talks to demons the other talks to Jesus.

Who do you want to talk to?

Who loves you?

Jesus already holds your future and died so you could have an eternal one.

Trust Jesus with all of your tomorrows.
